heard that song by ingrid michaelson, 'the way I am'? (it's the old navy sweater ad song, for those of you who love commercials like I do...)

anyways, I was listening to it earlier today. (on the radio, give me a break) so, it's a cutesy song about how much she is offering to give her guy because he's so awesome for loving her the way she is.

one of the ending lines in the song is "and I love you more than I could ever promise", and at first I was all "awwww", but then I realized that despite the nice sentiment, it's not true. Because in the end the limit of your love is exactly what you can promise, and even THAT is more than most of us can give...

seen this one yet? I know it's been out for a few months (I'm so behind on rentals it's not funny), but I took a chance on this one in the 2/$20 bin at Hollywood Vid.

I liked it alot; Joseph Gordon-Levitt proved once again (see Brick. no seriously, SEE IT, it's AWESOME!) that he knows how to pick the good roles.

weekend adventure (?)

so, we went over to the coast this weekend and stayed at Lincoln City for a couple nights with my parents. lots of games and PG flicks...and who knew it ever snowed on the beach? it was pretty!

on our way home we stopped at the Rogue Brewery restaurant to grab some lunch, and happened to be there at the same time as a Channel 2 reporter doing some fluff piece on the place. Look for us on the 6:30 news tonight...we'll be the ones ignoring the camera shoved in our face while we're trying to eat...(and drink, in Mitch's case.)

my so-called life

why am i still at work at 6 on a friday? i do not know. in times such as these, I find that watching the full episodes on abc.com makes the fact of my interminably long working hours more bearable, and even more so as I have JUST discovered that they are actually airing episodes of my all-time favorite show during high school.

...it all began in 1995 with a simple teen drama. it was angsty. it was filled with voice-overs. it featured jared leto decked out in grunge 90's flannels. I was hooked.

and thus began my fascination with all thing claire danes, culminating with my obsessive 10 viewings of romeo+juliet in theatres.

you guys seen this one? Fridays on VH1 (and in various repeats all.week.long) we get to view up close and personal the hideous destruction of former and wannabe celebrities. it's horrifying and fascinating to watch Jeff Conway in particular - I esp. like the part where he shrieks random profanities at the puffy Baldwin brother.

10 Things I Hate About You and Knights Tale were ridiculous popcorn movies. Casablanca was just unforgivably terrible. But Monsters Ball and Brokeback Mountain were both truthful performances of broken people that made me realize that Heath Ledger was actually an actor with promise.

I'm looking forward to his performance as Joker in the next Christopher Nolan Batman movie, and I'm pretty sad that we won't be seeing anymore films from Heath, terrible, insightful and heartbreaking, or otherwise...
